It’s been seven years since the simpsons movie!!!

wow

I think, ultimately, I want to do it in color, all of it, the entire thing, because even though when you think of noir you think “black and white” There is just so so much shit I can do with atmosphere and mood if it’s colored. But the problem there is that color, as I do it now, takes forever, and if I do it like a lineless thing I can’t envision it as anything but kind of a Cucumber Quest lite sorta deal. I guess I COULD try to do it in flats, but when you think ~*MOVIES*~, which I want you to, you think light, right? Or I do. Like, fuckin, extravagant, three point, everything drenched in light or shadow type shit. Like “Hook”

I got time to figure this out I guess. it’s 4 am now, I should sleep

I’ve been thinking that i want my next project (which is looking like it’ll be Spenny Comic, (or Gumboots!)) to be visually distinct from Buffet of Lies, but also look kinda film noir-y, and I’m realizing I may have shot myself in the foot by making this-and-most-of-the-remaining-stories basically exactly that.

Maybe a lineless style would work. Or inkwashes?????? Who can say

Pick a character I’ve written and I will explain the top ~three to five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.

Never trust another Al

Alternately: ONLY trust another Al

I’m convinced Al Jean and co. agreed to the simpsons/family guy crossover to make modern simpsons writing/staging seem fresh and inspired by comparison
